How This Calculator Works & Mathematical Formula
Standard ACSM Metabolic Equation:
Calories Burned = [MET × 3.5 × Weight (kg) / 200] × Time (minutes)
Where 1 MET = 3.5 ml O₂/kg/min (resting oxygen uptake in a seated resting human). MET values are derived from Ainsworth et al. Compendium of Physical Activities.

Important Planning Assumptions & Safety Disclosures
•Wearable fitness trackers routinely overestimate exercise calorie burn by 25% to 40% (Stanford University evaluation of commercial wrist trackers).
•Do not "eat back" 100% of exercise calories burned if your objective is fat loss, as your body compensates by reducing subsequent spontaneous physical activity (constrained energy expenditure model).
